Nestled in the charming 6th arrondissement of Paris (in a street filled with the kind of little restaurant’s and bars that I would love to spend more time in), you will find Quinsou. Which over the last 8 years has established itself as a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts seeking a blend of innovative cuisine and comforting ambiance. Chef Antonin Bonnet, with his impressive pedigree including stints at London’s Greenhouse and Paris’ Le Sergent Recruteur, has created a neighbourhood gem that punches well above its weight.
Ambiance >
Quinsou strikes the perfect balance between cozy and sophisticated. The intimate dining room, filled with happy locals and fellow chefs, exudes a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes diners feel instantly at home. The modest corner location in the Left Bank belies the culinary treasures that await inside. If you are lucky you might even get to meet Babette, who is Antonin’s french bull dog (she is the sweetest pup) who sits behind the bar.

Bonnet’s culinary prowess shines through in his thoughtfully crafted menu, which changes regularly to showcase the freshest seasonal ingredients. The dishes are a testament to his mastery of contemporary French cuisine, with each plate beautifully presented and bursting with flavour.
The standard five course offering is €125 per person and filled with delicious dishes and a number of optional extras that can elevate the meal even further.
Our first dish was a carpaccio of celeriac served with a delicious consommé that lingered (that is a fabulous soup). The second dish stunning raw ocean trout served with caviar, dill, basil and olive oil – fresh, salty, sweet and wonderfully light.
Bread was served with a ball of green parsley butter which was the perfect complement to the fish.
A perfect selection of roasted vegetables was next and served with daichon radish to add crunch to the sweet roasted veg. We shared a pork terrine which was beautifully glazed and served with mustard seed and aoli.
Wine >
The wine list at Quinsou is carefully curated to complement the menu. We enjoyed an organic Pinot Noir from Burgundy La Maison Romane Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2018 (see below for the review) which was ideal for the meal.
Conclusion >
With one MICHELIN star and creative cuisine, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service, Quinsou is a shining example of Paris’ vibrant culinary scene and a testament to Chef Bonnet’s culinary artistry. We loved the meal, we loved the ambiance and I loved playing with Babette…
