Arpuria makes a key point of not being in the middle of St Anton. It is not above a disco or party bar. It is not even at the bottom of a ski run. Rather it is a couple of streets away from the crowds and slightly above the village. Hidden away in the picturesque Tyrolean Alps, Arpuria Hotel is a boutique haven that embodies the essence of luxury and comfort. They refer to it as a “hidden luxury mountain home” and that is the perfect description of a smart, comfortable, service driven hotel, that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and a tranquil retreat from the bustling village below.
THE OWNERS >
Arpuria is the vision of Christoph and Barbara Fahrner, who redeveloped the traditional Hotel Fahrner into this charming retreat. Their dedication to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is evident in every detail, from the elegant rooms to the exceptional service. The Fahrners’ passion for hospitality and sustainability reflects their commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the Alps for future generations.
ROOMS >
Apuria’s rooms are designed with a stylish minimalist elegance with a focus on comfort. Many rooms have balconies with a view out over St Anton.
A minor complaint but the beds were slightly too soft for my back but I am sure that most people would find them extremely comfortable. There is a desk and couch and enough space and importantly for a ski hotel enough places to store all your clothes and knick knacks. Rooms are not perfectly sound proofed you tend to hear the floorboards creak a little when someone walks overhead but with an adult only clientele there are no young voices to disturb your relaxation.
The nightly turndown and fresh towel service is part of that connection to delivering excellent service and hospitality.
EAT >
Start your day with an exceptionally rich breakfast at Arpuria, featuring regional specialities and a wide variety of options to cater to all tastes. The breakfast buffet is available until 11 am, allowing guests to enjoy a leisurely morning. The breakfast service has a something for every palate but it also has an incredible range of teas on offer, as well as a fresh orange juice squeezer and for those who enjoy fresh breads they offer a range of delicious fresh baked items and an incredible selection of jams and spreads.
In the evenings the PURA Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience with a range of à la carte dinners. With a daily changing menu as well as Austrian classics there is a focus on high-quality, regional ingredients. They also have a special Fondue room and service.
WELLNESS >
The ARIA Spa is a haven of tranquility, offering a comprehensive wellness experience.
- The Heated Indoor and Outdoor Pool: Is accessible year-round, perfect for a refreshing swim or leisurely float after a hard day of skiing. An innovative glass wall opens if you want to swim outside and there are spa bubbles as well!
- The Sauna Area is spectacular and features a panoramic views over the valley, there is also a herbal sauna, infrared salt grotto, and aroma steam bath, and if that is not enough there is also a panorama lounging area with numerous day beds to enjoy the view and just chill.

VERDICT >
St Anton is an outstanding ski resort and Arpuria is an outstanding hotel to match the resort. From its excellent shuttle services up and down the mountain to the pool and spa you always feel taken care of.

They valet park your car and there is both a drying facility and use of a ski depot right at the bottom of the lifts so you don’t need to carry your skis and boots back each day.
There are thoughtful things like the complimentary candy stand when you just need something sweet, or the drinks, snacks and fruit available for guests on the third floor and in the spa.
