The TP-7 field recorder looks stunning with its brushed aluminium, functional buttons, high vis colours on the accents it looks like something you would have seen in Star Wars, slick functional an important tool.
The thing about the TP-& field recorder is that this highly desirable device is not something most of us are going to consider buying, even though I can already feel you itching to explain why you need it, the reason is the price $1,499 USD for functionality that most of us take for granted in our smart phones. But lets not get stuck on why its too expensive, rather lets take a look at what makes this such a beautiful and functional tool.
TP–7 field recorder is a dedicated recording device with a 7 hr rechargeable battery and 128 gb of internal storage. Designed to suit the recording of music, interviews and much more, the central wheel (tape reel) is used to navigate menus (like an early ipod), scrub the recording, pause, etc.
There is a built in microphone or use any of the three stereo two-way jacks to connect external mics, headphones, studio monitors and more. There is also a USB-C port to connect multi-channel audio interface, midi controller, or for data transfer and charging. wireless connectivity options include MFi and ble. 6.35 mm to 3.5 mm jack adapter is also included.
One impressive party trick is that the TP–7 has a transcription app for instant voice-to-text. simply connect via bluetooth or usb, and import your audio for instant and accurate transcription.
