STAY > Andaz Hotel, Tokyo

Andaz is a luxury hotel part of the Hyatt brand and the Andaz Toranomon Hills (Tokyo) has recently been voted as one of the best hotels in Asia. So a great time to revisit what makes this such a great hotel.

With 164 rooms in the tower and check in on the 51st floor you know that part of staying at the Andaz is all about the views which are amazing you sit looking out across Tokyo and at night the view of Tokyo Tower is stunning. On a clear day you can even see Mt Fuji.

Rooms are generous and the suites even more so, the standard rooms start at 50 square meters and are a tasteful blend of Japanese aesthetics and smart design with plenty of natural surfaces. Each room has a large soaking bathtub, and the mini bar includes free soft drinks and snacks.

WORK OUT >

This hotel has a state of the art gym, as well as a 20-meter swimming pool, a unique carbonated pool and a floating jet pool. So there is plenty to keep you in condition, and if that wasn’t enough as the name suggests this is a hilly neighbourhood and perfect for exploring on a run, or a walk.

Consider climbing the stairs of success a small feat in its self said to be an important ‘step’ in making a successful career!

The 24-hour “Andaz Lounge” offers wine and canapés service during the evening hours (18:00 – 20:00) which is a great spot to take a break and soak it all in.

EAT >

There are plenty of choices in the hotel and so many more beyond. Start at the Rooftop Bar which boasts stunning night views of Tokyo from the 52nd floor for cocktails and snacks. The aptly named SUSHI offers traditional omakase courses in an intimate setting. The main dining room, The Tavern – (Grill & Lounge) is just what you would expect American and European fare, cooked well and they also have some very nice Wagyu on the menu. Finally BeBu specializes in American comfort food and craft beer so you have plenty of choice if you don’t want to venture out.

CONCLUSION >

Staying at the Andaz is all about luxury and style. Having stayed at the Andaz in New York City numerous times, the Andaz Toranomon Hills was top of my list. This is a hotel that is full on luxury so if the budget allows go ahead and splurge because there a few hotels like this one in the world.
