EAT > Per Me, Rome (19/20)

Chef Giulio Terrinoni started his career in his home town of Fiuggi (about an hours drive to the east of Rome), his family owned a restaurant and he grew up around food and service. He moved to Rome and quickly built a career working in great restaurants learning from different chefs.

Chef Giulio opened his own restaurant Per Me Giulio Terrioni in 2015 and it gained a Michelin Star in 2016. Visiting the restaurant in 2023 it still feels incredibly fresh and vibrant, the food is innovative, the staff are exceptional and the wine list is phenomenal.

Unlike some restaurants there is a choice, you can either enjoy one of the chef’s tasting menu’s which are ‘First Steps’ – (five dishes for €120), ‘Head, Hands, Heart’ – (the story to date in ten moments €160) or a vegetarian option ‘Think Green’ (five dishes €120). Wine pairing is available for these at €70 for five glasses or €90 for seven glasses. You can also order from the à la carte menu with first courses €30, second courses ~€46 and deserts €23.

The wine list is extensive with some wonderful choices and the mark up is very reasonable, we enjoyed an outstanding Barolo with the ‘First Steps’ tasting menu and it was all sensational.

Per Me is restaurant that balances fine food, style, professional staff and an excellent wine list, without getting too “up itself” here is a restaurant you can go along and enjoy a great bottle of wine and a couple of courses sitting outside and know it will be sensational without breaking the bank. There are not a lot of places you can do that with a Michelin Star chef!
