You have eaten an omakase (degustation course) before but have you experienced an omakase cocktail bar? Probably not. With only 8 seats this bar has a slightly reverential experience as cocktails are elevated beyond mere libation to fine palate experiences.
You have to make a reservation (at least a week in advance) as of course there are only eight seats but the owner (Yamamoto) speaks excellent english. When it comes to making you cocktails and you need to decide if you are having 4,5,6 or 7 and then he will mix and serve each explaining to you the ingredients and flavours.
The long bench top bar is made of 500 year old Mizunara oak and the room is elegant and more akin to a tea ceremony than a regular bar. Drinks showcase seasonal fruits and are fresh and clean each presented in special glass or ceramic vessels.
