The Caterpillar Club was created as an association of people whose lives had been saved by using a parachute when they jumped from an airplane, well thats what I learned from wikipedia anyway but I am not sure that has much to do with the latest bar from the team at Swillhouse who have launched their newest bar with that name at 92 Pitt Street, Sydney.
The Swillhouse have created some of the very the best drinking (and eating) venues in Sydney, think Alberto’s Lounge, Huberts, Baxter Inn, Shady Pines Saloon and Le Foote but this one is a little different.
The Caterpillar Club (according to legend) was a strip club before the team came in and did their magic. Today there is an incredibly long bar (claimed to be the longest in Sydney but who is measuring), with DJ and a huge collection of vinyl they are playing jazz, old school funk, R&B, blues and creating some good times. There is a promise of regular live music on the stage and there is a plenty of plush lounges to sink into.
Out the back there is another bar called the ‘bamboo room’ here they change up the vibe and the cocktail list so its worth making sure you get there for something just a little different.
Open from 5pm seven days a week til late (3am Sun to Thur and 4am Fri and Sat).
