Bar TRENCH, Bar TRIAD and Bar TRAM are all part of the Small AXE group of bars found in Ebisu, Tokyo. Each of them offer something a little special and make the region a great place for a night of bar hopping.
Ebisu might not have been on your list for a night out, given it is much more residential than some of the other better known Tokyo districts, even though it is only a short distance from Shibuya this is a district better known for small bars and small restaurants. It’s an area where many office workers slip in for drinks or dinner after work to catch up with friends, colleagues or just hang.
Bar TRENCH sits in a quiet backstreet and as you walk towards it, from the outside there are aspects that feel more like an English Pub, but once inside you will find an incredible range of spirits and some special cocktails on offer.
Like its sister bar TRAM, there is a focus on drinks and cocktails made from Absinthe but they have a wealth of other options and happy to make you any classic you might want.
The chief bartender Rogerio has ensured that Bar Trench has been recognised in the world bar rankings since 2014 though more recently he is even more acclaimed as a judge. This is a smart small bar where you will get to enjoy something special but it is a small space so not suited to larger groups.
Recently the Bar opened Bar TRENCH Annexe which is across the road and makes the perfect alternative when you can’t get in. Or maybe visit both and see which you prefer.
